Every OSU student, faculty member, and alumni is familiar with the famous Library Lawn. From the sweeping green lawn, to the beautiful Edmon Low Library, to the country’s most comprehensive student union, this area of campus is central to many people’s experience at OSU. However, few may know who helped create this iconic area of campus. The answer lies just west of Library Lawn, where there stands a statue of former OSU President Henry G. Bennett. Though you may have walked past this statue while on campus, how much do you know about President Bennett and his impact on the university?
In this episode. we’re talking all about Henry Bennett, from his personal life to how he helped make OSU what it is today. We’ll hear interview excerpts from both alumni and family members, and later we'll talk with Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Doug Hallenbeck, about how OSU is continunig Bennett's legacy of supporting students on campus.

Bethany Merino is from Carrollton, Texas, and is pursuing a double major in Strategic Communications and English. She is involved in the Advertising club and plays violin in the OSU Symphony Orchestra. Bethany enjoys working for OOHRP because she loves storytelling and helping the amazing stories from OOHRP's collections reach a wider audience.
