Episode 86: Cowboys in Every County

Amplified Oklahoma Show Notes

February 16, 2024

Here at Oklahoma State University, we bleed orange. Cheesy as it may sound, there are OSU alumni all across the world who bring the Cowboy Spirit with them to the many places they go to after leaving OSU.

Amidst the countless oral history interviews with Oklahoma State alumni, the Cowboys in Every County series is a collection created to document the experiences of at least one OSU alumnus from each of Oklahoma’s 77 counties. With candidates who were nominated by their peers to participate in the project, these interviews cover a wide variety of the uniquely Oklahoman experiences of OSU alumni. From those who grew up knowing they were going to OSU to those who had never heard of Stillwater until they got there, our interviewees all left OSU with a love for their school that they still live out in their communities.

This month, we’re highlighting interviewees from our Cowboys in Every County Collection that exemplify the Cowboy Code, from dreaming big to standing strong in the face of adversity. We’ll also hear from Director of OSU Alumni Engagement Courtney Harp about her experiences working with OSU alumni.
