Episode 55: 1959 College World Series
Amplified Oklahoma Show Notes
December 18, 2020
Show Notes
In the spring of 2020, the brand new O’Brate Baseball Stadium at Oklahoma State University was scheduled to host its first game, which ended up being delayed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the Big Twelve conference announced that all spring sports were cancelled, including OSU baseball. This month on Amplified Oklahoma, as many fans await the 2021 season, we’re looking back on the first and only national championship the OSU baseball team has won way back in 1959. We’re sharing stories from former players on that 1959 championship team as they recall their experiences during the season and championship game, as well as success that followed them after graduation.
