Betty Boyd - House of Representatives 1990-2000
Betty Boyd was interviewed January 26, 2007 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Oral History Project. Mrs. Boyd was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1990 and served through 2000. She represented House District 23 and was a member of the Democratic Party. She discusses her path to the legislature including her time as a television broadcaster. Mrs. Boyd shares some of the issues she championed such as breast cancer research, reading sufficiency, and teacher preparation.
