Rebecca Hamilton - House of Representatives 1980-1986, 2002-2014
Rebecca Hamilton was interviewed July 14, 2008 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Oral History Project. Mrs. Hamilton was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1980 serving through 1986 and then she was elected again in 2002 and is currently serving. She represents House District 88 and is a member of the Democratic Party. Mrs. Hamilton recalls her early interest in politics and talks some about her involvement in the 1970s women’s movement. She also discusses a few issues she is interested in such as establishing a hotline for rape victims, funding for adult daycare pilot programs, and pro-life and human rights legislation.
