Kathleen Wilcoxson - Senate 1996-2008
Kathleen Wilcoxson was interviewed October 22, 2007 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Oral History Project. Mrs. Wilcoxson was elected to the Oklahoma Senate in 1996 and served through 2008. She held the Senate District 45 seat and was a member of the Republican Party. Mrs. Wilcoxson recalls her initial interest in politics as a young child writing to Governor Henry Bellmon, talks about campaigning, and shares her memories of her first years in the legislature. She also discusses some of her legislative efforts such as changing the school dropout laws.
