Carolyn Coleman - House of Representatives 1990-2002
Carolyn Coleman was interviewed September 19, 2007 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Oral History Project. Mrs. Coleman was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in1990 and served through 2004. She represented House District 53 and was a member of the Republican Party. She shares memories of growing up in Oklahoma City, being a woman in a minority party, and interacting with people on the campaign trail. She discusses some of the legislation she sponsored such as a gifted program education bill, the Reading Sufficiency Act, and remedial education at universities.
