Lori Raborg

co-author and instructional developer of "Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement Manual and Exam Prep," Eighth Edition

Lori Raborg came to writing for the fire service via a long, convoluted path. She began her technical writing career translating government regulations into guidelines that could be easily understood and used by growers and farm workers in California's San Joaquin Valley.

Raborg learned of Fire Protection Publications while working for the graduate program in Oklahoma State University Department of English. She joined FPP in 2011 as an instructional developer and later advanced to curriculum manager. She used her experiences working with FPP/IFSTA technical committees as a basis for her Master's thesis on collaboration among virtual technical writing teams.

Though no longer with Oklahoma State University, Raborg continues to support FPP/IFSTA's educational mission through development of educational curriculum and certification test banks.

This Exam Prep is a supplement to "Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement," Eighth Edition manual. The questions are designed to help students remember information and to make them think. The guide contains multiple choice questions. The answers, found in the back of the Exam Prep, are listed by chapter. Each answer is referenced to the "Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement," Eighth Edition manual page on which the answer can be found.
