Leslie Miller
co-author and editor of "Pumping and Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook Exam Prep," Third Edition
December 15, 2016
Leslie A. Miller was born and raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors from Oklahoma State University. An editor with Fire Protection Publications since 2002, she has written and edited a variety of fire service training manuals. She serves on the National Fire Protection Association's Hazardous Materials Response Personnel committee, and is also a member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). She writes short fiction for a hobby and is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA). An avid gardener, she blogs about gardening for wildlife at PlantersPlace.com
"The Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook," Third Edition covers pumping apparatus only, the second book in the pair, "Pumping and Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook," Third Edition contains the same 15 chapters as the pumping apparatus textbook, plus an additional five chapters relevant to aerial apparatus. Personnel on departments that operate both types of apparatus now only need one manual and one curriculum for training. Students only need one exam prep to prepare for testing. If a fire department does not use aerial apparatus, they use the "Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook," Third Edition and omit the aerial sections of the curriculum and exam prep which include all 20 chapters.
