Errick Braggs

senior graphic designer of "Pumping and Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook," Third Edition

December 16, 2016

Errick Braggs started his career in 1995 after graduating OSU-IT with an associate degree in graphic design. He worked in the advertising agency industry for several years until after the birth of his first child, when he transitioned his career path to corporate, in-house design jobs.

In 2008 Errick began working as a senior graphic designer, with OSU's Fire Protection Publications. Not only does he work for Oklahoma's greatest university, but he also earned a B.F.A. from OSU in 2014. Putting his education and experience to good use, he helps produce training manuals and educational materials for professional firefighters. Fire Protection Publications' books are widely used within the United States but are also translated into nine other languages and used worldwide. The impact of his work here saves lives and changes the world, and he loves that.

The "Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook," Third Edition covers pumping apparatus only, the second book in the pair, "Pumping and Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook," Third Edition contains the same 15 chapters as the pumping apparatus textbook, plus an additional five chapters relevant to aerial apparatus. Personnel in departments that operate both types of apparatus now only need one manual and one curriculum for training. Students only need one exam prep to prepare for testing. If a fire department does not use aerial apparatus, they use the "Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook," Third Edition and omit the aerial sections of the curriculum and exam prep, which include all 20 chapters.
