David Lalman
co-author of "Oklahoma Beef Cattle Manual"
November 4, 2015
Dr. Lalman is currently a professor in the Animal Science Department at Oklahoma State University. His position is State Extension Beef Cattle Specialist with primary responsibilities in cow/calf and stocker cattle nutrition and management. Lalman's extension and research program emphasis is on increasing profitability and/or reducing cost of production through improved forage utilization, defining optimal supplementation practices and evaluating beef production systems and alternatives.
"The Oklahoma Beef Cattle Manual" has been a key resource for beef cattle producers, Extension professionals, veterinarians, and many others associated with the beef cattle industry since 1983. The Manual aims to enhance the profitability of beef operations and the quality of life of beef cattle producers by equipping them with vital information on all aspects of beef production, business planning, risk management and marketing. It includes sections on economic issues, forage, nutrition, breeding, herd health, the environment for raising cattle and beef industry issues. The Seventh Edition of the Manual is the result of a team effort by faculty and staff in the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and Extension Area Specialists.
