Damona Doye
co-author of "Oklahoma Beef Cattle Manual"
February 1, 2016
Damona Doye is a farm management Extension economist, Regents Professor and Rainbolt Chair of Agricultural Finance at Oklahoma State University. Research and Extension topics include farm information systems, rental rates, land values, cost of production and risk management. She is co-leader of the OSU Master Cattleman Program and provides leadership for educational programs targeted to women in agriculture, including a statewide conference and Annie's Project. Damona also currently serves as Vice-President of the International Farm Management Association and past Chair of the Council on Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics.
"The Oklahoma Beef Cattle Manual" has been a key resource for beef cattle producers, Extension professionals, veterinarians, and many others associated with the beef cattle industry since 1983. The Manual aims to enhance the profitability of beef operations and the quality of life of beef cattle producers by equipping them with vital information on all aspects of beef production, business planning, risk management, and marketing. It includes sections on economic issues, forage, nutrition, breeding, herd health, the environment for raising cattle and beef industry issues. The Seventh Edition of the Manual is the result of a team effort by faculty and staff in the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and Extension Area Specialists.
