Fire Service Instructors have come to expect that FPP/IFSTA curriculum is up-to-date and will meet their training needs. The Essentials Curriculum for the 6th Edition has a design based on current research that provides the most effective instructional design for adult training classrooms. All the tools an instructor needs to deliver a course with successful outcomes for today's firefighters are provided in this comprehensive package. The Essentials Curriculum includes all classroom and assessment materials to teach a Firefighter I and/or Firefighter II course. The Curriculum includes support materials for 33 lessons: PowerPoint Presentations in a graphically based style emphasizing the role of the instructor as the speaker to reinforce the visual images, with companion Lesson Outlines containing thumbnails of slides, discussion points review questions and instructional notes. Evaluation materials include in-class learning activities and evaluation checklists for 192 psychomotor skills. Nearly 2,000 test and quiz questions allow for cognitive assessment. The Course Workbook is designed for the student to review material by chapter to enrich face-to-face classroom instruction. The Exam Prep is designed to be used as a self-study tool for students to prepare for comprehensive exams such as end of course tests or the written portion of certification exams.
