Center Stage in OSU's Entertainment District

Oklahoma State University’s performing arts centers have almost always found a home nestled in the southeast corner of campus near Knoblock and University avenues. The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts is the newest and most exquisite facility in the university’s traditional entertainment district. Let’s take a look at the history of stages here.

OETA premieres “Chilocco Through the Years” on Thanksgiving Day

“Chilocco Through the Years,” a documentary based on the award-winning project from the OSU Library’s Oklahoma Oral History Research Program, will premiere on OETA at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28. and will rebroadcast on Dec. 28 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 29 at 2 p.m.


Teresa Miller to be inducted into Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame

Oklahoma author and educator, Teresa Miller, will be celebrated as the 2019-2020 inductee into the Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. in the OSU-Tulsa Auditorium. Author P.C. Cast will make introductions and open the night for a conversation between novelist Rilla Askew and Miller. A reception for guests and former inductees will follow.


OSU wins Elizabeth B. Mason award for Chilocco History Project

The Oral History Association awarded its 2019 Elizabeth B. Mason Large Project Award to the OSU Library’s Oklahoma Oral History Research Program. This is the third Mason Award for OSU, the only institution to win this national honor more than once. This year, the OOHRP was recognized for its recent Chilocco History Project.


Tickets on Sale for Jodi Picoult on Oct. 24

Author Jodi Picoult is the featured speaker for this year’s H. Louise & H.E. “Ed” Cobb Speaker Series presented by the Friends of the OSU Library. The dinner, keynote and book signing will take place on Oct. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sparrow Beginnings in Stillwater, Oklahoma.


Constitution Day program featuring Angela Monson, Patricia Loughlin and Jeanette Mendez

Oklahoma State University is hosting a Constitution Day program on Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. The event features former Oklahoma Senator and Representative Angela Monson; Dr. Patricia Loughlin, Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of History and Geography at the University of Central Oklahoma; and Dr. Jeanette Mendez, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Professor of Political Science at OSU. It will be held in the Edmon Low Library’s Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room.


Library offers open textbook incentive

The University Libraries is offering Oklahoma State University faculty members the opportunity to save their students money — while making a little extra of their own.


Kathy Essmiller named 2019-2020 OER Research Fellow

The Open Education Group has named Kathy Essmiller a 2019-2020 Open Educational Resource (OER) Research Fellow. Essmiller is one of 24 scholars selected this year and is the second OSU researcher to participate in the program.
