Tom Mix: First King of the Cowboys
On Display Now in the Lisa and Mark Snell Gallery

Tom Mix was the first Hollywood superstar to emerge during the era of silent films. Starting with a bit part in the 1909 film "The Cowboy Millionaire, Mix went on to star in over 290 movies, becoming the first "King of the Cowboys," and inspiring later actors such as John Wayne and Ronald Reagan. This exhibit is based on material found in the Robert Cotton Collection.
