Find Textbooks
The books from the textbook initiative are placed on 2-hour reserve. You can search for available textbooks by visiting the Library catalog and searching by the title or author of the book.
About the Textbook Initiative
The textbook initiative is a program designed to help students in need deal with the increasing cost of textbooks. The Library maintains a collection of currently-used textbooks that cost more than $90. Textbooks are put on 2-hour reserve in the Library, which ensures many students can benefit. You can check out these reserve textbooks at the circulation desk with a photo ID.
History of the Textbook Initiative
In Fall 2006, the OSU Library launched a pilot project to help students struggling with increasing textbook costs. The Library originally purchased one textbook for each of the 74 OSU classes that enroll 250 or more students. In Spring 2007, the project was expanded to purchase texts for classes enrolling 200 or more students. Thanks to continued donor support, the textbook initiative has continued to expand, now offering textbooks that cost more than $90
