Maxine Horner - Senate 1986-2004

Maxine Horner was interviewed November 12, 2007 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Oral History Project. Mrs. Horner was elected to the Oklahoma Senate in 1986 and served through 2004. She held the Senate District 11 seat and was a member of the Democratic Party. Mrs. Horner discusses her journey to and through the Oklahoma Senate. She talks about mentors, pages, and about being an African American woman running for and serving in the legislature.
