Episode 45: Till Death Do Us Part

Amplified Oklahoma Show Notes

February 24, 2020

Every year, there’s a special holiday in February that we celebrate by spending time with someone we love: Valentine’s Day. Whether it’s with long-time partners or new friends, it’s a holiday that many Americans have observed in some capacity. This month on Amplified Oklahoma, we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day by highlighting stories of love in the Oklahoma Married for Life Oral History Project, a series of interviews with Oklahoma couples who have been married over 70 years. We’ll hear from three different couples as they discuss the breadth of their relationships and answer the question: what is the secret to a long and lasting marriage? We’ll also hear from Dr. Tanya Finchum, a coordinator of the project, as she discusses the value of documenting and listening to the experiences of these older couples.
