Episode 44: Before the Plague - Stories of coming out and coming to terms with AIDS
Amplified Oklahoma Show Notes
December 20, 2019
Show Notes
December is AIDS Awareness Month, and June 2019 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. That makes this a time of elevated import on the LGBT+ history calendar. Though LGBT+ history has gained broader visibility in recent years, it still remains a subject of which the general populace knows little – and this is especially true here in Oklahoma. In this episode of Amplified Oklahoma, we’re listening to the stories of LGBT+ alumni and their experiences during the height of the AIDS epidemic. We’ll hear from three OSU alumni spanning three generations as they talk about their time at OSU, and how the nationwide crisis of AIDS impacted their lives.
