Coronavirus Response at the OSU Library

The coronavirus pandemic is evolving. The University and Library administration continue to monitor the situation for developments and will heed the advice of public health officials. This could result in further changes to operations. Check back for updates as the situation evolves.
Hours
The Edmon Low Library and its branches have resumed normal operating hours. You can always find the most up-to-date information on library hours on our hours page.
Services
Returning Material:
- Books can be returned via the exterior book drop located near the western-most south door. Technology should be returned to the Circulation Desk. If you cannot personally return items to the Library, please call 405-744-7142 or email lib-cir@okstate.edu to discuss options.
Laptops:
- Laptops are available for both one-day and one-week checkouts at the Circulation Desk. If you need an extended laptop due date contact liblap@okstate.edu.
- If you cannot visit the Library in-person to pick up or return a laptop, email liblap@okstate.edu to make arrangements.
Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery:
- Document delivery and Interlibrary Loan services are available. Please check our Document Delivery page and ILS page for details.
- Contactless material pickup will be offered to all students, staff and faculty. If you cannot visit the library in-person, please email lib-ils@okstate.edu to make arrangements.
Study Rooms
- Study Rooms reservations may be made online or by calling 405-744-9741.
- Individuals using the rooms are encouraged to wear face coverings and follow posted occupancy limits.
Remote Services:
- Contactless material pickup is available for faculty, staff and students. Visit our Contactless Pickup guide for details.
- Our 54 databases, 130,000 e-serials, 3.2M e-books and other electronic resources, including the Library's 65 digital collections, are accessible via the library's website.
- Our subject librarians are available for research consultations and virtual instruction. Research guides are also available online.
- Reference assistance will be available via chat. Check our chat page for service hours and to start a new chat session.
- Our Research and Learning Services team has developed a list of resources that includes tools to help faculty transition to online instruction effectively.
- Our Special Collections team has developed a guide to assist in accessing their resources remotely.
- To facilitate faculty and student research and instruction, librarians can provide guidance on copyright and author rights, open educational resources, research data services, and digital scholarship.
Expectations
- All Library employees and visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings.
- Guests and employees are expected to follow University policy, as well as state, local and federal laws.
Events & Meetings
Event coordinators should take steps to limit capacity, promote social distancing, and encourage masks. At this time, food is discouraged at public events.
FAQ
If the Library is open, but I can't get there, how do I return materials?
Many items can be renewed online. Visit http://info.library.okstate.edu/borrowing/renew to learn more. If extenuating circumstances keep you from returning items on time, please call 405-744-9741.

I work at the Library, can I still work from home/can I still work in my office?
Where possible departments may schedule alternating shifts and allow some employees to continue working from home temporarily. Employees should visit with their supervisor about plans for their unit. If you have health concerns related to returning to work, discuss arrangements with your supervisor.
Do I have to wear a face covering to enter the Library?
All visitors to the Library are encouraged to wear face coverings.
When is Café Libro open?
Café Libro is operated by University Dining Services. Check their website for information on campus dining options.
