Shelia Kennison
Author of "Cognitive Neuroscience of Humor"

Shelia Kennison received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her bachelor’s degree in linguistics and psychology from Harvard University. Her research focuses on cognitive science, including topics in language comprehension, bilingualism, resilience and risk-taking. Previous books include "Introduction to Language Development and Psychology of Language." She also edited "Processing Across Languages," which features psycholinguistic research from different languages. She has published more than 100+ other scholarly works. Research articles have appeared in a variety of journals including, "Cognition, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, & Cognition," "Journal of Memory & Language, Bilingualism: Language & Cognition," and "Psychonomic Bulletin & Review." She is on the editorial board for Journal of General Psychology and is an associate editor for Current Psychology. Her research on personality and cybersecurity is funded by the National Science Foundation. She teaches courses on cognitive science, neurobiological psychology, and psychology of humor.
