Elizabeth Grubgeld
Author of "Disability and Life Writing in Post Independence Ireland"

Elizabeth Grubgeld is Regents Professor of English. In addition to many articles on Irish literature, autobiography, and Disability Studies, she is author of three books: "George Moore and the Autogenous Self (1994)," awarded the 1995 prize for Literature and Culture Studies from the American Conference for Irish Studies; "Anglo-Irish Autobiography: Class, Gender, and the Forms of Narrative (2004)," awarded the Robert Rhodes Prize for Irish Literature in 2005; and most recently, "Disability and Life Writing in Post Independence Ireland." A graduate of the University of Iowa’s doctoral program in English, she came to Oklahoma State from the University of Wyoming in 1986. Since then, she has enjoyed teaching and working with undergraduate and graduate students on a wide variety of subjects, never failing to be amazed at their intelligence, tenacity and curiosity about the world.
