John McGuire

Editor of "ESPN and the Changing Sports Media Landscape"

John McGuire (Ph.D., University of Missouri-Columbia) has research interests focusing on the sports media business, sports announcing and political journalism. Dr. McGuire most recently served as co-editor of "ESPN and the Changing Sports Media Landscape" (2019). McGuire was the lead editor on "The ESPN Effect: Academic Studies of the Worldwide Leader of Sports." McGuire was also a co-author of "Campaign 2000: A Functional Analysis of Presidential Campaign Discourse" (2003). Dr. McGuire has also authored peer-reviewed articles that have appeared in "Communication and Sport," "Journal of Sports Media," "Newspaper Research Journal" and "Journal of Radio and Audio Media."
