David Schaap

co-author of "Hazardous Materials for First Responders, Fifth Edition" - Curriculum Package, "Hazardous Materials Technician, Second Edition" and Building Construction Related to the Fire Service, Fourth Edition" - Curriculum

David Schaap is a part-time curriculum developer with Fire Protection Publications. He is originally from Iowa and came to Stillwater to attend OSU. He received at Master’s in Professional Writing in 2013 and has since been working in the Curriculum Department at FPP. After attending fire academy with OSU-Fire Service Training, he began volunteering at Ingalls Fire and Perkins Fire Departments until he was hired on full time at Stillwater Fire Department in September of 2016. He lives in Perkins, Oklahoma with his wife, his daughter and several pets.

"Hazardous Materials for First Responders, Fifth Edition" - Curriculum Package accompanies the "Hazardous Materials for First Responders" textbook. The curriculum includes lesson outlines, digital presentations, tests, and quizzes. In addition, the curriculum package includes Exam Prep and student workbook publications. The Exam Prep is intended to help students study for certification tests and is produced in print, digital, and app formats. The workbook provides study beyond the exam prep and is available on ResourceOne.
