Angel Muzik
editor of "Principles of Vehicle Extrication, Fourth Edition"
February 13, 2018
Angel Muzik has been an Instructional Developer at Fire Protection Publications since 2014. Before that, she worked as an educator for Stillwater Public Schools and the OSU College of Education. She earned both her bachelor's in Elementary Education and a masters' in Educational Technology from OSU, so she’s orange and black, through and through. Her favorite part of working at FPP is interacting with the committees and doing hands-on training alongside the firefighters that FPP serves. Outside of work, Angel loves to read, travel, cycle and dabble in many other hobbies. She lives in Stillwater with her wife, Belinda, and their small herd of pug dogs and tortoiseshell cats.
This edition of "Principles of Vehicle Extrication" is intended to help firefighters and first responders train to meet the job performance requirements of the National Fire Protection Association's standard 1006. The textbook provides the information and skills needed to become an Awareness, Operations, or Technician level rescue responder for vehicle incidents. The book includes knowledge and skills for stabilizing vehicles, cutting vehicles apart to access victims, and packaging victims for transport to medical facilities. The book addresses both passenger vehicles and heavy vehicles such as city buses and semis.
