Donating Materials

Special Collections & University Archives welcomes offers of materials that support the preservation of historically and culturally significant records related to Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Payne County, and the State of Oklahoma. Some materials may duplicate existing holdings or fall outside our collecting scope.

Please review the guidelines below and contact us before bringing materials to the Archives.

Materials We Accept

• Rare books, including early publications, first or limited editions, fine press books, and volumes with unique provenance
• Maps and atlases of Oklahoma, North America, and other regions, particularly those published prior to the mid-20th century
• Archival and unique materials related to OSU, Oklahoma history, or historically significant people, events, or eras
• Publications and research materials created by OSU faculty and staff not already held by the Archives

Materials We Do Not Accept

• General interest books and magazines
• Textbooks
• Duplicate research books and journals already in our collections

We encourage donors to consider local public libraries, used bookstores, or charitable organizations for these materials.
