Resource Access and Discovery
The Resource Access and Discovery Department catalogs monographs, serials and integrated resources in all formats for the OSU Libraries. The department provides high-quality description and access for print and electronic resources to facilitate and enhance instruction, learning and research of the university community. The department also provides expertise and guidance in developing metadata standards and applications for digital initiatives throughout the library.
What we do?- Perform original and copy cataloging of print and electronic resources
- Perform authority control
- Participate in the BIBCO, NACO and SACO components of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging and authorize for the National Enhance Program
- Prepare and load bibliographic records for e-resources
- Manage databases, including corrections, resolution of display and retrieval issues, and withdrawal and transfer of materials
- Physically process materials, including security strip, label and bind pamphlets as needed
- Mend circulating materials
